Commissioning your own building portrait is an exciting and smooth process.
Whether it's your family home, your favourite pub, your wedding venue, or your shop, a unique drawing is always a treasured gift. It becomes a snapshot of your favourite place in time and the focal point of any room.
The commission process is simple...
All commissions are bespoke. I work closely with you to understand the characteristics that make your home, business, or favourite building unique.
Commissions start with an initial sketch consultation. Here, I discuss the vision and size of the drawing, as well as what to - or not to - include. Do you want to capture that wisteria tree? that car? lose the telephone wires? Sometimes the little details give a drawing character, so this is the important first step.
During this first sketch meeting, the timescale and cost of the drawing(s) is discussed. An art piece is usually completed within a few weeks, depending on scale.
After we have discussed the sketch, I will begin to transcribe your favourite building into the world of pen.
By sketching live, you can enjoy seeing the process from early sketch to completed artwork. I will also Email snippets of the drawing in process.
In the end, a unique art piece is created - your own highly-detailed building portrait to be proud of.
Each drawing is created on 240gsm artist paper and hand-signed. Enclosed with your commission will be a signed certificate of authenticity. The artwork will be packaged securely before final delivery. Pre-framing or gift packaging can be provided for a small additional cost.
